My work is concerned with the nature of objects, their surface and the story which they have absorbed over time. I have for some time collected artifacts which have been discarded, commonly, the have had a domestic use but contain the fragile narrative of human existence, 'the poetry of use'. I then embellish or re-create them in a new form, often using traditionally feminine techniques, such as knitting and stitch. I am currently exploring the qualities of a ships rope, a walking stick and a pushchair for the Lighthouse exhibition.
